The collection consists of five items: Carbon copy of a letter from Michael Ayrton to Fiedler, 4 May 1973, concerning a lecture Fiedler gave on circles, with a note about the Sator Square, with a manuscript draft of the letter; letter from Fiedler to Stanley Weintraub, 25 April 1973, accompanying an essay, The Wheel, the Maze, the Coliseum, and the Rose, dated 19 May 1971; and letter from Fiedler to Daniel Walden, 10 February 1978, about speaking at Penn State.

Leslie Aaron Fiedler was born on March 8, 1917 in Newark, N.J. He received his B.A. from New York University in 1938, and pursued graduate studies in English at the University of Wisconsin where he received both his M.A. and Ph.D. In 1941 he was hired as an assistant professor at Montana State University, Missoula. Stanley Weintraub was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 17, 1929. He earned a bachelor's degree in education at the West Chester State Teacher's College in 1949. He received his master's degree from Temple University "in absentia" because he was called to duty in the conflict in Korea two months prior to graduation.
